Actress says she's 'ready to say goodbye' to vampire franchise
Kristen Stewart has claimed that she is “ready to say goodbye” to the Twilight franchise.
The final part in the teen-vampire series, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, will be released this November but, in an interview with Total Film, Stewart said it was easy to move on.
After Total Film asked her if it was sad or liberating to have finally said farewell to her character, Bella Swan, she replied: “Both. Fleetingly sad and maybe then once or twice after. Like when you suddenly smell something that reminds you of being on set. But it’s not sad in between those moments, because I feel like no stone was left unturned.
“Everyone thinks it’s hard to say goodbye, but it’s harder to say goodbye to crews and casts that I’ve only spent five weeks with,” she added. “This was four years. I’m ready to say goodbye. I’m perfectly fine.”
Stewart, who starred in the first Twilight film in 2008, concluded: “Once the story has been told, you feel like you’ve done all you can do. It’s pretty easy to walk away. It’s not like it’s going anywhere. This one’s mine, forever.”
In September, the actress insisted that she will be able to cope with the media glare surrounding the release of the final installment in the series after it emerged earlier this year that she cheated on Robert Pattinson, her Twilight co-star and boyfriend of two years, with British film director Rupert Sanders.
Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is scheduled for release in the UK and the US on November 16.
