And he was sort of excited about it
The Big Sick writer Kumail Nanjiani was forced to eat a bowl of Brussels sprouts last night after he lost a bet over his Oscar nomination.
Director Edgar Wright, who picked up nominations for editing, sound editing, and sound mixing for his film Baby Driver, explained to his Twitter followers that he had made a bet with Nanjiani that The Big Sick would be nominated for Best Screenplay.

Nanjiani lost, and the forfeit was to eat a bowl of his least favourite vegetable.
“Edgar loves brussel sprouts,” Nanjiani explained.
“I hate brussel sprouts.
“Tonight I will be eating a bowl of brussel sprouts and enjoying it for the first time.”
Nanjiani recently revealed that he was inspired by his wife and co-writer Emily V Gordon’s period of ill-health when creating The Big Sick.
Earlier this month, Baby Driver actor Ansel Elgort channeled his character in the film by pulling off car stunts in a New York snowstorm.
He posted a video on Twitter alongside the caption: “Nyc snowstorm no worries baby will give u a ride.”
Babydriver came second in the NME list of 2017’s best films.
Number one, Get Out, has been nominated for four Oscars.
