Liam Neeson in negotiations for ‘The All Nighter’

'Taken' actor is in talks to star in the crime thriller

Liam Neeson is reportedly in talks to star in new crime thriller The All Nighter.

The Taken actor, who has starred in a number of thrillers in recent years, is seen as the producers favourite to take on the role as an ageing hit man who, in order to protect his wife, must take on his former boss in a single night, according to The Wrap.

The film is being produced by Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee, along with Brooklyn Weaver from Warner Bros. The spec script has been penned by Brad Ingelsby, who was paid a reported six-figure sum by the studio. No release date has been set.

Meanwhile, Liam Neeson is to lend his voice to the new Lego feature film, with the actor playing a loyal henchman.

The 3D-animated movie is being written and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who previously made computer-animated hit Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs.

An amusing-sounding plot synopsis for the film has been posted on the IMDB website. It teases: “An ordinary Lego mini-figure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil Lego tyrant from gluing the universe together.”

Warner Bros Pictures has slated the Lego movie for release on February 28, 2014.
