This strange ‘Love Actually’ fact is blowing people’s minds

This is certainly unexpected...

Love Actually fans are amazed after realising that the age gap between two key characters is a lot smaller than they’d initially realised.

In the film, Thomas Brodie Sangster wins viewers over in the role of lovestruck schoolboy Sam, who is desperately attempting to win the affections of American pupil Joanna.

But despite the apparent portrayal of youthful innocence, Brodie Sangster was actually thirteen at the time of the film’s release in 2013.

In contrast to his youthfulness, Keira Knightley seems altogether more mature in the role of bride Juliet, who leaves Andrew Lincoln lovestruck after she ties the knot with his best friend (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

Incredibly, Knightley was only eighteen at the time of release – which means that there’s only FIVE years behind her and Brodie-Sangster despite the huge gulf in apparent appearances.

“Still shook by the fact that Keira Knightley was only 18 when she was in love actually and only 5 years older than guy who played the little loved-up boy wtf”, one Twitter user wrote.

Another said: “HOW THE FUCK”, and shared the birth dates of the two.

In the follow up, it transpired that Love, Actually is all around after he finally reunited with Joanna and revealed that the pair were set to tie the knot.
