‘Man Of Steel’ to be released on Blu-ray and DVD this December

Blu-Ray edition of Superman reboot will feature nearly four hours of special features

Man Of Steel will released on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download in the UK on December 2.

The Blu-ray edition will include nearly four hours of special features, Warner Bros Home Entertainment has announced, including an insight into Henry Cavill‘s Man Of Steel training regime, a documentary exploring the characters of the Superman mythology, and various interviews with the film’s cast and crew.

Since its release on June 14, Man Of Steel has grossed a shade under $650 million (£415 million) at cinemas worldwide. Alongside Cavill as Clark Kent aka Superman, the film boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne.

Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder revealed at San Diego Comic-Con last month (July) that Batman will join Cavill’s Superman in his forthcoming sequel – and dropped a heavy hint that the two won’t see eye to eye. It’s since been rumoured that Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin are in the running to play Bruce Wayne aka Batman, while Christian Bale has reportedly been offered £40 million to reprise his role from The Dark Knight trilogy.

Snyder is expected to start shooting his Batman-assisted sequel to Man Of Steel early next year for a summer 2015 release.
