The story involves her husband wearing some very tiny shorts
Margot Robbie has recalled the rather awkward time that she first met Barack Obama.
The I, Tonya star appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show this week when she revealed that the first time she met Obama was also the first time she met DeGeneres.
“I’m scared because my husband’s going to kill me for telling this story, but it’s my favourite story ever and it’s the story of how Ellen and I met,” Robbie began, describing how she and husband Tom Ackerley were on their honeymoon last year in Tahiti.
Having spent four days in a Robinson Crusoe-esque shack, the newlyweds then moved to a luxury hotel, bumping into DeGeneres, her wife Portia de Rossi and Barack Obama in the hotel’s gym.
“We get changed to go to the gym and Tom puts on these shorts that are like, his oldest gym shorts, and they’re tiny,” Robbie said. “I was like, ‘Babe, you cannot wear those shorts… I can see everything’. And he was like, ‘Oh, c’mon. Who are we going go to run into?'”
Recalling how they were “star struck” to meet Obama, Robbie then said Ackerley had to do an entire “stretching class” in front of Obama while wearing the undersized shorts.
“Boy, those were the wrong shorts to wear today,” DeGeneres said she told Ackerley at the end of the class.

Robbie recently spoke about receiving death threats and dealing with stalkers after starring in Suicide Squad. Robbie received rave reviews for her portrayal of Harley Quinn in the 2016 superhero film.
She said: “You’re about to be in a comic book film; now here’s the worst-case scenario of how big and scary it can get”.
