The final instalment of the latest trilogy is out on December 20
Mark Hamill has trolled a fan who demanded that the Luke Skywalker star reveal the title of the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode IX movie.
The fan in question posted on Twitter: “If they don’t release the title of the film soon I’m just gonna have to get it out of [Mark Hamill] myself.”
The comment then saw Hamill take the user’s comments and splice them with a mock-up of the film’s title card with a nod to Ariana Grande which read: “Star Wars Episode IX: Thank U, Next” followed by the words: “Sorry Not Sorry”.
The actor played a similar trick on a fan last week who asked for spoilers, when he replied “Hey Michael! I know EVERYTHING about Star Wars IX. You’re welcome,” in response to a fan asking “Hey Mark! Do you know ANYTHING about Star Wars IX? Thanks.”
Hamill also previously trolled fans with a fake casting announcement on social media last year.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Carrie Fisher will feature prominently in the new movie.
Her brother Todd Fisher told Good Morning America: “There’s a lot of minutes of footage, I don’t mean just outtakes. This is unused, new content that could be woven into the storyline. That’s what’s going to give everybody such a great kick. It’s going to look like it was meant to be. Like it was shot yesterday.
“We’re not allowed to talk about the details of anything,” Fisher added. “But we’re thrilled at what’s been done.”
Hamill also previously opened up about his “bittersweet” return for Star Wars: Episode IX without the late Fisher.
Star Wars: Episode IX is currently due for release on December 20, 2019.
