Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk rumoured for ‘Captain America: Civil War’ appearance

He'd join Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr and Paul Rudd in the superhero sequel

Rumours are swirling that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk could be making an unexpected appearance in Captain America: Civil War.

Though the Bruce Banner actor hasn’t been spotted on the film’s Berlin set, German newspaper Bild reports that he has been seen partying in the city with three of its stars, Chris Evans, Daniel Brühl and Anthony Mackie. Shooting on the third Captain America movie started in April and moved to the German capital earlier this month.

Alongside Chris Evans’ Captain America, Marvel favourites confirmed to appear in the superhero sequel include Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany’s The Vision and Don Cheadle’s War Machine, as well as Captain America regulars such as Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, Frank Grillo’s Crossbones and Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter.

Meanwhile, the new Spider-Man played by British actor Tom Holland will make his debut in Captain America: Civil War, which is set for release on May 6, 2016. Daniel Brühl will play supervillain Baron Zemo, William Hurt is reprising his role as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk and Sherlock‘s Martin Freeman has been cast in a currently unspecified role.

Marvel’s official plot synopsis teases: “Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age Of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity.

“After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”
