Marvel releases teaser trailer for ‘Ant-Man’ movie – watch

Full trailer debuts tomorrow (January 6) during the premiere of Marvel's 'Agent Carter' TV series

Marvel has released a brief teaser trailer for its forthcoming Ant-Man movie.

The full trailer will debut tomorrow (January 6) during the first episode of Marvel’s new Agent Carter TV series starring Hayley Atwell, which will air on US network ABC at 8pm E.T.

Marvel’s Ant-Man movie stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a petty criminal who acquires the ability to shrink in size but increase in strength and become a superhero known as Ant-Man. Michael Douglas co-stars as Hank Pym, the scientist who originally invented the Ant-Man technology and mentors Lang to take over from him.

Marvel’s plot synopsis for the film teases: “The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.”

Ant-Man is set for release on July 17 next year. Rudd and Douglas lead an impressive ensemble cast that also includes Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, rapper/actor TI, Corey Stoll and Judy Greer.

Filming finished last month (December) with Peyton Reed (The Break-Up) directing after Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) dropped out in May citing creative differences with Marvel.
