Superhero movie starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas opens in cinemas on July 17
Marvel has released the first full-length teaser trailer for its forthcoming Ant-Man movie.
The trailer debuted last night (January 6) on US network ABC, during the first episode of Marvel’s new Agent Carter TV series, and the two-minute promo clip is now available to watch online.
Marvel’s Ant-Man movie stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a petty criminal who acquires the ability to shrink in size but increase in strength and become a superhero known as Ant-Man. Michael Douglas co-stars as Hank Pym, the scientist who originally invented the Ant-Man technology and mentors Lang to take over from him.
Marvel’s plot synopsis for the film teases: “The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.”
Ant-Man is set for release on July 17. Rudd and Douglas lead an impressive ensemble cast that also includes Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, rapper/actor TI, Corey Stoll and Judy Greer.
Filming finished last month (December) with Peyton Reed (The Break-Up) directing after Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) dropped out in May citing creative differences with Marvel.
