Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds is to play late Jackass star Ryan Dunn in a new movie.

The forthcoming film, titled I Needed Time to Stay Useless, is being made by Bam Margera, one of Dunn’s former Jackass co-stars.

“[Brent] just did the movie I Needed Time to Stay Useless,” Margera explained in an interview from August 2014 which has recently been discovered by Loudwire. “He’s playing Ryan Dunn and he did an awesome fucking job.”

The film, which does not currently have a release date, follows Margera’s previous low-budget efforts as writer-director, Haggard: The Movie (2003), Bam Margera Presents: Where the ♯$&% Is Santa? (2008) and Minghags: The Movie (2009).

Actor and stunt-man Ryan Dunn, who bore a notable resemblance to Brent Hinds, died in an alcohol-related car crash in Pennsylvania on June 20, 2011. He was 34 years old. Mastodon released their sixth album, ‘Once More ‘Round the Sun’, last June.
