Christopher Nolan's space epic is released in cinemas November 7
Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway travel further into space than any humans before them on a quest to save the world in the latest trailer for Interstellar.
Christopher Nolan’s space epic will be released in cinemas November 7.
In the trailer McConaughey’s pilot Coop warns: “This world’s a treasure but it’s been telling us to leave for a while now…” He is called into action when scientists discover a wormhole (which theoretically can connect widely-separated regions of space-time). It gives his team an opportunity to transcend the limits of human space travel.
With humanity’s time on Earth coming to an end Michael Caine’s character predicts Coop’s daughter’s generation will be the last to survive on Earth. So buckling up for his interstellar mission beyond our solar system to “save the world” Coop leads a team of explorers undertaking the most important mission in human history. The film’s synopsis has revealed they must “travel beyond this galaxy to dicover whether mankind has a future among the stars”. The trailer shows the explorers facing terrifying tidal waves as they learn they haven’t gone far enough.
The Oscar-winning stars of The Texas Buyer’s Club and Les Miserables play Cooper and Brand. Interstellar also features Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone), David Oyelowo (Jack Reacher), John Lithgow (Dexter) and Ellen Burstyn (Requiem for a Dream).
During the San Diego Comic-Con in July, McConaughey talked to fans about working with Dark Knight Trilogy director Nolan: “He’s always out for original. Everything he has to do, it has to be original.” The actor explained that Nolan relies on his instincts and works fast: “I had no idea that Nolan did so few takes, and that astounds me, especially when it’s for a massive blockbuster.” Watch the latest trailer for Interstellar below.
