Creed star could be playing the villain in the blockbuster

Creed and Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan has reportedly joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther movie.

The news comes as no surprise as the standalone film is set to be directed by Fruitvale Station and Creed director Ryan Cooglar.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan’s role remains undisclosed but it’s believed that he could be playing the villain against Chadwick Boseman’s titular hero.

It was reported yesterday that Lupita Nyong’o is reportedly in talks to appear in the film, with her role also yet to be disclosed. Rumours have stated that Nyong’o is set to play Boseman’s love interest in the film, shifting away from the comic book’s original love interest of X-Men’s Storm. Storm is unable to feature due to rights issues.

Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, first made his appearance in the recent Captain America: Civil War. The standalone film is set to be directed by Fruitvale Station and Creed director Ryan Cooglar.

Commenting on the impact of Civil War, director Joe Russo said, “There will be a long lasting fallout from the events of this movie. It will significantly alter the psychology of the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward.”
