The actor took a ride on the 'Crazy Train' for his performance
Michael Fassbender has squared off with late night host Jimmy Fallon in an air guitar battle on US TV.
Fassbender, who will star in the upcoming film adaptation of the video game franchise Assassin’s Creed, took on the Tonight Show host in a challenge that wasn’t too dissimilar from the wildly-popular ‘Lip Sync Battles’ that have taken the US by storm in recent years.
The premise of the segment saw Fassbender and Fallon each choose a song to ‘perform’, before taking to the floor to ‘play’ air guitar along to a backing track. Fallon went first, having to air guitar to Thin Lizzy‘s ‘Boys Are Back In Town’, while Fassbender had to follow that with Ozzy Osbourne‘s ‘Crazy Train’.

Also starring Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons, Assassin’s Creed revolves around the ancient artifact The Apple of Eden, which is said to possess the power to prevent war. Alan Rikkin’s (played by Irons) Abstergo Industries tracks down convicted criminal Callum Lynch (Fassbender), who is the only surviving link back to when it was known to be in existence, and sends him back 500 years in the past by connecting him with the memories of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha – an assassin who was alive at the time of the Spanish Inquisition.
Assassin’s Creed is released in the UK on January 1.
