The International Man Of Mystery could be heading for Broadway
Mike Myers is planning a fourth Austin Powers movie and a stage musical, according to reports.
The spoof International Man Of Mystery is set to return for the first time since 2002’s Austin Powers In Goldmember after Myers signed on to write another movie.
A source close to Myers has now told Page Six that the new film could be on course to reach cinemas in 2013. They also added that he is planning to take the British superspy to Broadway, saying: “Mike would be heavily involved in writing the show, but he will not star in it, even though he has quite a good singing voice.”
Myers’ representatives declined to comment on the report, but speculation has been rife about a Powers return since the disappointing performance of his follow-up character in The Love Guru.
Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery was a surprise hit when it was released in 1997, taking in more than £43 million globally at the box office.
