Mila Kunis to star in ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’?

The 'Ted' actress is now 'frontrunner' after being named 'Sexiest Woman Alive'

Mila Kunis is the latest actress to be linked to Fifty Shades Of Grey.

According to The Sun, Kunis has “emerged as the frontrunner” to play the film’s female lead. Kunis, the star of Ted and Friends With Benefits, has just been named “Sexiest Woman Alive” by Esquire magazine.

The three Fifty Shades Of Grey novels, which trace the sexual relationship between college graduate Anastasia Steele and businessman Christian Grey, have now sold over 40 million copies worldwide. Casting for the film version is a hot topic.

EL James, the British author of the novels, recently revealed that she has seven actors in mind to play her fictional lovers. She sold the screen rights back in March (2012), but remains heavily involved in the decision-making process.

Earlier this month (October 2012), James dismissed reports that Ryan Gosling was “frontrunner” to play Grey after her husband appeared to endorse the actor. Other names attached to the male lead include Jake Gyllenhaal, Channing Tatum and Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder.

Meanwhile, Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel and Shailene Woodley from The Descendants are said to be in the running to play Steele. Harry Potter‘s Emma Watson has been mooted too, but recently denied being approached by the film’s producers.

Although Fifty Shades Of Grey still has no director or cast members, the project is moving forward. Earlier this week (October 9), British screenwriter Kelly Marcel was officially hired to pen the script.
