A new film has achieved the highest ever score on Rotten Tomatoes

This is pretty impressive...

Paddington 2 has become the highest rated film ever on Rotten Tomatoes after it scored more positive reviews than any other film.

Earlier this week, the acclaimed big-screen adaptation of Michael Bond’s books became only the fourth film to achieve a 100 percent fresh rating – joining the esteemed company of Toy Story 2, documentary Man On Wire and European drama Things To Come.

But Paddington 2 has now topped the lot to become the highest rated film of all time after securing 165 glowing reviews – which breaks the record previously held by Toy Story 2.

However, it could soon see the record being challenged by Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird – which has 50 more positive reviews than Paddington 2, but was ultimately brought down by one negative naysayer.

Among the 165 reviews received by Paddington 2 was NME’s verdict on it, with the film hailed as “heartwarming and completely charming”.

“It’s set in a London where everyone lives in a fancy Notting Hill townhouse and chats to each other on the street. But like its predecessor, this film never feels woolly: it’s filled with entertaining CGI set-pieces and has an admirable underlying message about the importance of community spirit”, our review claimed.
“The result is another heartwarming and completely charming film with jokes that will tickle kids and adults alike. Bring on Paddington 3.”
