New images from Marvel’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ revealed

Pictures of Marvel's new superhero ensemble unveiled

Three new images from Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy have been revealed.

The main image, which you can see above, shows the film’s ensemble cast of Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt and WWE wrestler Dave Bautista alongside animated companions Groot and Rocket Racoon. On the right-hand side of the page, meanwhile, are the other two new pictures revealed: a shot of Pratt’s character Star-Lord and the team’s spacecraft The Milano.

Guardians Of The Galaxy focuses on a team of superheroes – including Star-Lord, Drax The Destroyer and Rocket Raccoon – who appear in a 2008 comic book series of the same name. Marvel is hoping it will kickstart another big screen franchise like The Avengers when it opens in cinemas on August 1, 2014.

It was reported last week that Marvel are already discussing a sequel to the film, which could potentially be released on May 6, 2016 – a date which has been reserved for an unannounced project by Marvel, and would come shortly after a Guardians Of The Galaxy cartoon series premieres on Disney XD in autumn 2015. Marvel, however, have not yet commented on the reports.

The picture’s bumper cast also includes John C Reilly, Bradley Cooper, Benicio Del Toro, former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan and Vin Diesel. Director James Gunn began shooting the film in July last year (2013).
