A new clip from Skyfall has been released to celebrate James Bond Day.

The 30-second snippet from the new Bond movie is subtitled “Digger vs Train” and places Daniel Craig‘s 007 in a rather tricky situation – you can watch it below.

October 5, 2012 has been named Global James Bond Day in honour of the 50th anniversary of the film franchise. The first 007 film, Dr No, had its world premiere in London on October 5, 1962.

Events planned include an online charity auction featuring 50 Bond-related lots, a worldwide survey to discover each country’s favourite 007 movie, a retrospective at New York’s Museum of Modern Art, a fashion exhibition in Toronto, and a night of Bond music held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in LA.

Meanwhile, Adele debuted her theme tune for new Bond movie Skyfall at 0.07am this morning. The song, also called ‘Skyfall’, is available to listen to here.

Skyfall, the 23rd Bond movie, arrives in cinemas on October 26. Joining Daniel Craig in his third outing as 007 will be Judi Dench as commanding officer M, Ben Whishaw as gadgets guru Q and Javier Bardem as the film’s main villain.
