New teaser for next month’s ‘Jurassic World’ released – watch

Dinosaur sequel starring Chris Pratt opens in UK cinemas on June 11 and in the US a day later

A new teaser for next month’s Jurassic World has been released on the dinosaur franchise’s official Twitter account.

Jurassic World is set to open in cinemas on June 11 in the UK and a day later in the US – nearly 14 years after the last instalment in the series, 2001’s Jurassic Park III. The official plot synopsis for the film, conceived as a direct sequel to the original 1993 Jurassic Park movie, teases: “Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.”

Parks And Recreation/Guardians Of The Galaxy star Chris Pratt heads up the film’s cast, flanked by Bryce Dallas Howard (Spider-Man 3, The Help), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days Of Future Past), Ty Simpkins (Insidious) and Judy Greer (Arrested Development).

Colin Trevorrow directs from a script he has co-written, and Steven Spielberg – who directed the first two films in the franchise – is on board as an executive producer. Last year (2014) Trevorrow teased the possibility of sequels to Jurassic World, saying: “We wanted to create something that would be a little bit less arbitrary and episodic, and something that could potentially arc into a series that would feel like a complete story.”
