New trailer for 24th Bond film ‘Spectre’ due on Wednesday morning

Sam Mendes' follow-up to 'Skyfall' will have its world premiere on October 26

A new trailer for Spectre, the 24th Bond film, will be released at 8am BST on Wednesday (July 22).

The new teaser is being billed as “the first full trailer” for this autumn’s Spectre directed by Sam Mendes. The trailer’s release was announced on Twitter earlier today (July 21) – see below.

Meanwhile, it was announced on Friday (July 17) that Spectre will open in the UK and Ireland on the same day as its world premiere. The 24th Bond film will be released in British and Irish cinemas on the evening of Monday, October 26 at the same time as its world premiere takes place in central London. It will then open in cinemas internationally on various later dates, with its US release scheduled for November 6.

Joining Daniel Craig’s 007 are double Oscar winner Christoph Waltz as a character called Franz Oberhauser, former Sherlock star Andrew Scott as a member of MI6 named Denbigh, Dave Bautista as a character called Mr. Hinx, Blue Is The Warmest Colour‘s Lea Seydoux as a Bond girl named Madeleine Swann, Italian actress Monica Bellucci as another female lead, Lucia Sciarra, and Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman as a character named Estrella.

Also returning alongside Craig are his Skyfall cast-mates Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q), Rory Kinnear (Bill Tanner) and Ralph Fiennes (M). The film’s official plot synopsis teases: “In Spectre, a cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”

In February Craig injured his knee while shooting a fight scene for the film but the actor has since made a full recovery. Meanwhile, Waltz has denied that his character’s name is a red herring following a swarm of online rumours claiming that he will be actually be playing classic Bond villain Blofeld.
