Spin-off film featuring 'Despicable Me's Minions opens in UK cinemas on June 26
A new teaser trailer for the spin-off film featuring Despicable Me‘s Minions has been released.
The promo clip will be shown during NBC’s coverage of the Super Bowl this Sunday (February 1), where 30-second advertising spots have been sold for an average $4.5 million (£3 million) each.
The Minions’ spin-off movie, simply titled Minions, will open in UK cinemas on June 26 this year before getting a US release a couple of weeks later on July 10. The plot sees minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob recruited as henchmen by a super-villain and her husband, voiced by Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm, who are hatching a dastardly plan to take over the world. Steve Coogan, Michael Keaton and Allison Janney also lend their voices to the film.
The Minions first appeared in 2010’s computer-animated comedy Despicable Me and 2013’s even more successful sequel, Despicable Me 2. Despicable Me 3 is scheduled for release on June 30, 2017.
Meanwhile, the Minions recently put their own spin on Christmas classic ‘Jingle Bells’ in a promo clip for US cinema chain AMC – watch it here.
