Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm and Michael Keaton lend their voices to the animated spin-off
A new trailer for Despicable Me spin-off film Minions has been released today (May 14).
The plot sees minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob recruited as henchmen by a super-villain and her husband, voiced by Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm, who are hatching a dastardly plan to take over the world. Steve Coogan, Michael Keaton and Allison Janney also lend their voices to the film.
The Minions first appeared in 2010’s computer-animated comedy Despicable Me and 2013’s even more successful sequel, Despicable Me 2, which featured Pharrell Williams’ global Number One hit ‘Happy’. Despicable Me 3 is scheduled for release on June 30, 2017.
Minions was co-directed by Pierre Coffin, who also co-directed both Despicable Me films, and Kyle Balda, whose many animation credits include Toy Story 2 and A Bug’s Life. Bryan Lynch (Puss In Boots, Hop) wrote the script.
Minions will open in UK cinemas on June 26 before getting a US release a couple of weeks later on July 10.
