The latest film in the Paranormal Activity series has been given an online trailer, which you can watch below.
The found footage film, the second follow-up to the huge 2009 hit, tells the tale of a family possessed by an evil spirit.
While Paranormal Activity 2 served as a prequel and a sequel, the third instalment looks set to focus things very much in the past. In the trailer we find the sisters, Katie and Kristi, as young girls in 1988, before the demon first came visiting.
We’d hazard a guess that playing ‘Bloody Mary’ in front of a mirror isn’t the best idea when the demon feeds on fear.
The first Paranormal Activity made a staggering $193m worldwide from a budget of $15,000. The sequel made $176m from an estimated budget of $3m.
The original film was championed by Steven Spielberg, who suggested changing the film’s ending.
Paranormal Activity 3 will be directed by the the film-makers behind Catfish, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. The series creators Oren Peli and Jason Blum will produce.
Paranormal Activity 3 is set for a UK release on October 21.
