The next installment of the spooky franchise will come out later this year
A fourth Paranormal Activity movie has been confirmed by Paramount.
The film franchise, which has grossed over $572 million (£365 million) from the three movies it has spawned thus far, will return later this year, the studio has said.
The franchise’s third installment Paranormal Activity 3 took over $202 million in box office receipts and topped the UK box office chart upon its release, beating big budget thriller Contagion in the process.
According to MTV News, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who directed Paranormal Activity 3, are almost certain be back at the helm for the franchise’s fourth installment, with Schulman saying of the possibility of him and Joost returning: “I had a blast. I’d do it again.”
Each of the franchise’s previous three efforts were all released in the week before Halloween and it is thought that the fourth installment is likely to follow in that tradition.
