Animated comedy will be released in 2016
Paul Rudd and Danny McBride (above) have joined the cast of Sausage Party, the new animated movie from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
The film will follow the success of Rogen and Goldberg’s Bad Neighbours with Rudd and McBride joining the cast providing voices alongside fellow comedy actor Anders Helm.
Speaking in 2011, Sausage Party was described by Rogen as being “a movie about sausages in a supermarket that need to get back to their aisle before the fourth of July.” Co-producer Goldberg added: “Their whole goal is to get purchased. And they get lost and they need to get back to they’re aisle before the Fourth of July starts.”
The star-studded cast also includes Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Salma Hayek, Edward Norton, David Krumholtz, Nick Kroll, Michael Cera, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Bill Hader and Rogen himself. The film is written by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffier with animation veterans Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan directing.
Sausage Party is scheduled for release in the US on June 3, 2016.
