'Game Of Thrones' actor recently wrapped on Bryan Singer
Peter Dinklage has spoken about his role in the forthcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
The Game Of Thrones actor recently wrapped filming on next year’s X-Men movie. Dinklage plays Bolivar Trask, a military scientist who created a range of robots called “Sentinels” whose purpose is to destroy mutants.
Although the character may be pigeon-holed as the movie’s villain, the actor says there’s more to the role than just playing evil. “I didn’t want to play the villain,” Dinklage told EW. “He’s a man of science. He’s a man of invention. He actually sees what he’s doing as a good thing — [his ambition is] definitely blind and he’s quite arrogant. He’s strove all his life for a certain respect and attention.”
Previously, Hugh Jackman has likened X-Men: Days Of Future Past to “three movies in one” because of its massive ensemble cast. Director Bryan Singer brought together X-Men stars old and new for the forthcoming sequel and the entire cast appeared together at San Diego Comic-Con in July, a gathering Singer celebrated by tweeting a memorable photo.
Jackman is joined in X-Men: Days Of Future Past by Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Shaun Ashmore, Omar Sy and Evan Peters, among others.
Singer starting shooting the sequel in April of this year (2013) in Toronto and confirmed on August 18 that he had finished filming. Some of the action takes place in 1973, the director has revealed, and time travel will be used as a major plot device. The film is scheduled to open in cinemas on July 18, 2014.
