New ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ clip sees K-2SO take the lead

Jimmy Kimmel aired the first-look clip

A new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story clip has emerged, showing droid K-2SO taking the lead.

Premiering on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the clips sees Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed) and droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) trying to fly a spacecraft through a rocky canyon.

The clip was released as the cast, including Luna, Ahmed, Tudyk, Felicity Jones, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn and Mads Mikkelsen then joined Kimmel for a chat on last night’s show (December 9). You can watch the clip below.

Speaking of seeing the full film for the first time, Ahmed said; “It was kind of awkward almost because Kathleen Kennedy and Gareth Edwards looked over to us and asked: ‘Guys, what did you think?'”

He added; “We were all just blank, we were completely silent. It was like: ‘Guys, please tell us you liked it!’ We were like: ‘Yeah, no it was good – we are just having a panic attack!'”

Ahmed also revealed that when he walked on set for the first time, it was “trippy” and added that he felt like a six-year-old.

Earlier this month, a new protest against the forthcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story movie with the hashtag #DumpStarWars began online.

Members of the alt-right who championed Donald Trump’s election victory have taken to Twitter to oppose the new movie which one member criticised for using a “multiculturalism anti-American agenda in a science fiction Disney movie”.

According to The Independent, the row kicked off after the film’s scriptwriter Chris Weitz last month posted a tweet, which has since been deleted, which stated: “Please note that the Empire is a white supremacist (human) organisation, opposed by a multi-cultural group led by brave women.”

This apparently led to a group of alt-right members to create the #DumpStarWars. One member tweeted: “Stop using your multiculturalism anti-American agenda in a science fiction Disney movie. We just want to enjoy a fun movie. #DumpStarWars.”
