Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool teases first full trailer – watch

The full trailer is due at 4am BST on Wednesday morning (August 5)

A teaser for the first Deadpool trailer has been released, featuring a typically tongue-in-cheek introduction from Ryan Reynolds’ title character.

“Get ready to blow out your collective sphincters, because my trailer is coming… tomorrow,” Reynolds’ Deadpool says in the teaser. The full trailer for Deadpool will follow at 4am BST on Wednesday morning (August 5).

Reynolds first played Wade Wilson aka Deadpool, a Marvel Comics anti-hero famed for his over-chatty personality and tendency to break the fourth wall, in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The character’s long-awaited solo movie has been in the works since 2010.

Visual effects specialist Tim Miller, whose CV includes creating the opening sequence for 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, is making his directorial debut from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the creators of US hoax-based comedy series The Joe Schmo Show. Miller began filming in late March in Vancouver, Canada, and Reynolds tweeted in late May that the shoot had wrapped.

Deadpool will open in cinemas on February 12, 2016. Reynolds is flanked by a supporting cast that includes Haywire‘s Gina Carano, former Homeland actress Morena Baccarin and Silicon Valley star TJ Miller.
