Reynolds recently starred in ‘Deadpool 2’ which stars stars Zazie Beetz, Josh Brolin, T.J. Miller, and more. It’s out in cinemas now and has the seal of approval from Marvel director James Gunn.
Gunn tweeted yesterday (May 27), “Yesterday I finally saw Deadpool 2, which I loved, and also the brilliant Revenge. Two completely different, fantastic films – cinema’s alive!”.
Ryan Reynolds replied to the tweet, simply: “Thank you James! Crossover?”. To which Gunn replied, “Yes, please”. See the Twitter exchange below.

Though this is a bit of Twitter banter to tease the fans, Disney’s merger with Fox is due to occur in 2019 after acquiring most of the assets from 21st Century Fox for roughly $52.4 billion. This includes the Fantastic Four and X-Men franchises, Deadpool included.
Guardians of the Galaxy may be a family franchise but Reynolds’ mercenary character is slightly darker in tone. In fact, a scene from Deadpool 2‘s post credits had to be cut after it was deemed too controversial.
According to MCU Cosmic, the scene featured Hitler as a baby. The Merc With The Mouth stands in a newborn ward, next to a crib with that name “A. Hitler” written on the tag before strangling the child.
Meanwhile, much to the internet’s horror, James Gunn has confirmed that Groot did actually die at the end of the first Guardians Of The Galaxy while clarifying the true origin story of Baby Groot.
