Mark Strong, Penélope Cruz and Rebel Wilson co-star in the action-comedy due in early 2016
A new trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen’s action-comedy film Grimsby has been released.
The film – titled The Brothers Grimsby in the US – follows a top MI6 agent (Mark Strong) who is forced to reunite with his football hooligan brother (Baron Cohen) during a mission to prevent a global terrorist attack.
Now You See Me‘s Lous Leterrier directs from a script Baron Cohen wrote with his Borat collaborator Peter Baynham and Wreck-It Ralph screenwriter Phil Johnston.
The film’s cast also includes Penélope Cruz, Rebel Wilson, Johnny Vegas, David Harewood, Ian McShane, Gabourey Sidibe and Baron Cohen’s wife, Isla Fisher. Grimsby will open in UK cinemas in February on a date to be confirmed, before being released in the US on March 11.
Last year the film was criticised by Grimsby councillor Matthew Brown, who argued that “it is using the town’s name in a potentially poor light”.
“Anything that you associate with football hooliganism is going to be negative, but I hope people will be open-minded when they watch the film,” the councillor added at the time. Watch the latest trailer below:
