Sarah Michelle Gellar pays tribute to Robin Williams on anniversary of his death

Gellar starred opposite Williams in US sitcom 'The Crazy Ones' shortly before he died

Sarah Michelle Gellar has paid tribute to the late Robin Williams on the first anniversary of his death.

Williams took his own life on August 11, 2014 at the age of 63. He had recently starred opposite Gellar in US sitcom The Crazy Ones, which aired on CBS from September 2013 to April 2014.

Remembering her late co-star, who played her on-screen father in The Crazy Ones, Gellar posted a photograph of the bench from his classic film Good Will Hunting accompanied by a quote from American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The quote reads: “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded.”

She then added: “You succeeded RW.”
