See clip of Courtney Love in new movie ‘J.T. Leroy’ starring Kristen Stewart

“Why do you keep answering for him?”

A new clip of Courtney Love starring in J.T. LeRoy, a forthcoming movie about the shenanigans of a made-up male literary persona, has been shared.

In the scene, Love, who plays a skeptical Hollywood producer called Sasha, is having a business meeting with ‘J.T. LeRoy’ (Kristen Stewart) who unbeknownst to her is actually a woman called Savannah Knoop. Laura Dern, who portrays Knoop’s sister-in-law Laura Albert, also sits in on the chat.

The clip shared by Rolling Stone (watch here) is a brief glimpse into the film’s plot which is centred on Knoop posing as burgeoning author J.T. LeRoy for six years. The male character, who was fabricated by Albert, go to great pains to disguise Knoop’s gender – including telling Sasha that Knoop is a deaf mute.

Love, who fronted the band Hole and is the widow of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, has starred in several films since kicking off her acting career in 1986 with Sid and Nancy.
