Sequel to sci-fi comedy could be in the pipeline
Simon Pegg has been discussing his upcoming projects including Star Trek 2, At World’s End and a possible sequel to the hit comedy Paul.
In an interview with Collider, the Spaced star talked up a potential second instalment for him and his best friend and fellow actor, Nick Frost.
“Nick and I have this idea that we had out on the way to Area 51 that was really funny. It would cost an absolute fucking fortune.”
Grossing just shy of $100m (£62m) on a budget of $40m (£24.8m) the chances of a second Paul getting a green light from Universal seem pretty high.
“The idea was it was called Pauls. Again, it was like From Dusk Til Shaun, that title is so good we have to make that film.”
In the interview Pegg also spoke about the last film in the ‘Cornetto Trilogy‘.
At World’s End will be the third, and potentially final, time that Pegg teams up with the Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz team of director Edgar Wright, producer Nira Park and actor Nick Frost.
Pegg will next appear in The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn due for UK release on 26 October.
