Gordon appears as school teacher who reads the poetry of William Blake to her class
Sonic Youth‘s Kim Gordon makes a cameo appearance in a new drug-fuelled German horror film called Der Nachtmahr.
Gordon plays a school teacher who reads the poetry of William Blake to a class of German teenagers including the film’s heroine, Tina, who is played by up-and-coming German actress Carolyn Genzkow.
The film’s plot synopsis teases: “Tina is a 16-year-old girl who seemingly has everything a young teenager could ever ask for. After a massive party one evening, however, she begins experiencing nightmares in which she is haunted by an unusual creature. As reality and dreams collide, Tina finds herself befriending the monster and forging a relationship that will change the lives of everyone around her.”
Gordon has also contributed to the film’s soundtrack, Dazed reports, and became involved with Der Nachtmahr because she was a fan of Eight Miles High, an earlier film by its mononymous director, Akiz.
Der Nachtmahr is set to premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland later this week. Watch the trailer featuring a brief glimpse of Kim Gordon below:
