The Jameson Cult Film Club will host special preview screenings in London, Manchester and Leeds
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is to be shown early in several UK cities.
The comedy sequel starring Will Ferrell will open in cinemas nationwide on December 20 but members of the Jameson Cult Film Club will be given the opportunity to see it a week ahead of the official release date at special screenings in London, Manchester and Leeds.
In a press release, Irish whiskey makers Jameson teased that the free screenings will “immerse the audience into the world of Ron Burgundy and the news team, so expect surprise jazz flute sessions, salon quality hair makeovers and Anchorman-themed Jameson cocktails”. For a chance to win tickets, simply sign up to join the Jameson Cult Film Club Facebook page and apply to enter the Anchorman 2 ticket ballot.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is the sequel to 2004’s hit newsroom comedy Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy. It follows Ferrell’s ’70s news anchor as he launches a comeback on a 24-hour network in ’80s New York.
Alongside Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate have all reprised their roles from the first Anchorman film, while James Marsden appears as a rival news anchor and Kristen Wiig has also joined the cast as the wife of Carell’s character, Brick.
Meanwhile, Kanye West has filmed a cameo appearance and his improvisational skills drew praise from director Adam McKay. “He was great and he was funny. He came up with a couple good lines on his own,” McKay recalled recently. Drake and Green Day make guest appearances in the sequel too – as do Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Liam Neeson, Tina Fey and Sacha Baron Cohen.
