Stan Lee just made his first-ever appearance in a DC Comics movie

The comic creator regularly pops up in Marvel movies

Stan Lee has made his first ever cameo in a DC comics movie, in the animated feature Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.

The Marvel Comics editor makes regular appearances in Marvel movies but has yet to appear in a DC Comics Universe creation – until now.

Lee appears in animated form in the Teen Titans movie during a scene which sees them visit Warner Bros Studios in Hollywood. They come across lots of famous faces while on the lot, including Lee himself.

“This is Stan Lee — dig my subtle cameo! This is a DC movie? I gotta get outta here!” his animated form declares before leaving the screen. He appears again in a final battle scene, where he chats about his love of cameos.

You can watch the trailer for the movie below.

Earlier this month, Siri began telling people that Stan Lee was dead. When users asked ‘how old is Stan Lee?’ Apple’s digital assistant replied: “Stan Lee died July 2, 2018, at age 95″. Apple quickly rectified the mistake.

Meanwhile, Lee is in the midst of seeking more than $1billion in damages from his former company POW! Entertainment. He claims that the company tricked him into signing a deal that saw him give away rights to use his name and likeness.

He alleges that POW! co-founder Gill Champion and CEO Shane Duffy brokered a “sham deal” to sell off the company to Camsing, of which Duffy is also Vice President. His lawsuit argues that POW were trying “to fraudulently steal Lee’s identity, name, image and likeness as part of a nefarious scheme to benefit financially at [his] expense” – following his “devastating” decline in health due to macular degeneration. They deny any wrongdoing.
