According to the TrekMovie.com fan site, tomorrow’s trailer will be a one-minute-long online exclusive, while a lengthier two-minute trailer will be shown before cinema screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which opens worldwide on December 14.

Star Trek Into Darkness, JJ Abrams‘ sequel to 2009’s Star Trek, is set for release on May 17, 2013. Alongside Pegg’s Scotty, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are returning as Captain Kirk and Spock.

Last month (November 2012), Paramount Pictures released a plot teaser for the sequel, revealing that Captain Kirk will “lead a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction”.

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has joined the cast and is known to be playing a villain, perhaps the so-called “one-man weapon of mass destruction”. Speaking earlier this month (December 2012), Pine described Cumberbatch’s baddie as “formidable”.
