Does this ‘leaked’ dialogue from ‘Star Wars 8’ confirm Rey is a Jedi?

Video claims to have uncovered a line from upcoming film from Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker

A new video suggests that a line of dialogue from Star Wars: Episode VIII has leaked and could answer questions over Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey.

British actor Ridley was introduced as Rey in last year’s Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Ridley has previously said that she “doesn’t think” Rey is a Jedi, while also confirming that fans will learn who her character’s parents are in the next film.

Now YouTuber Mike Zeroh claims to have received information from “reliable” sources suggesting that a future teaser trailer, allegedly surfacing early in 2017, will include Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker telling Rey: “You contain the spark that will rekindle the fire”. The lines could confirm that Rey is on the path to become a Jedi Knight.

Star Wars Episode 8 (VIII) Luke Skywalker Line Of Dialogue Leaked (SPOILERS)

Today we have an interesting video involving Star Wars Episode 8 (Star Wars Episode VIII) and it has to do with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, today I will be going over a carefully researched set of claims given to me by multiple individuals, of a supposed line of dialogue by Luke Skywalker in the upcoming Star Wars Episode 8 teaser trailer due in Q1 2017.

Ridley recently responded to sexist critics who have labelled Rey a so-called “Mary Sue”. “Mary Sue”, a term whose origins lie in fan fiction, is used to describe a female character who is so perfect as to be unrealistic or even annoying.

During an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ridley said she was “confused” when some fans attached this label to her The Force Awakens heroine. “The Mary Sue thing in itself is sexist because it’s the name of a woman,” Ridley said. “Everyone was saying that Luke had the exact same [capabilities].”

Episode VIII is expected in 2017, with sequel Episode IX slated for a 2019 release. Spin-off Rogue One hits cinemas next month.
