‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’: Details of Finn’s recovery emerge

New movie is set to be released in 2017

A Star Wars fansite claims that details have leaked on Finn’s recovery in Episode VIII.

At the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens his character was badly injured in a light saber duel with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

In the sequel, John Boyega’s character is apparently placed in a “bacta suit” to recover from his injuries at the beginning of the film, reports Making Star Wars. Bacta is a healing substance which has featured before in the sci fi films.

Luke was placed in a bacta tank in The Empire Strikes Back when he was attacked by a Hoth monster near the beginning of the film.

Once he has fully recovered, he is allegedly sent on a new mission for the Resistance.

Meanwhile, Driver recently clarified comments he made about the forthcoming sequel, which fans thought compared it to The Empire Strikes Back.

The actor previously spoke of the screenplay, stating that it had a different tone, “similar to The Empire Strikes Back“.

Speaking in September, he said: “It’s great. It’s similar to how The Empire Strikes Back has a different tone. For that people always go “oooh, it’s dark” but I don’t know that it necessarily is. It’s just different in tone in a way that I think is great and necessary but also very clear. He (Rian Johnson) trusts [that] his audience is ready for nuance and ambiguity. He’s not dumbing anything down for someone and that’s really fun to play.”

Whilst his comments didn’t directly state that Star Wars: Episode 8 would mirror the tone of The Empire Strikes Back, some fans took it that way.

Last week, he clarified the comments, stating: “What I said was the tone of it was different, I didn’t say that it was gonna be in the vein of [it] – I was using it as an example, so poor example.”

He continued, “Next time I should say – I’m trying to think of another sequel to a movie that’s good. When I read the script, it was not what I expected, in the best of ways.”

Meanwhile, Warwick Davis has joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode 8. The film will be the second in the sequel trilogy, following last year’s The Force Awakens, and is set to be released on December 15, 2017. It has yet to receive an official title.
