JJ Abrams' 'Star Wars' movie arrives in cinemas on December 18

A new South Korean TV promo for Star Wars: The Force Awakens features a brief flash of unseen footage from JJ Abrams’ blockbuster. Check it out below.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for release on December 18 this year and takes place 30 years after the events of Return Of The Jedi. The film’s script was penned by Abrams, Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt and Star Wars franchise veteran Lawrence Kasdan.

Alongside the returning trio of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, the film’s cast also includes Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis. Check out a behind-the-scenes reel revealed at San Diego Comic-Con here.

Meanwhile, Lucasfilm is also working on a series of Star Wars spin-off films which it has titled the ‘Anthology Series’. The first spin-off, Rogue One starring Felicity Jones, will arrive on December 16, 2016.

A second spin-off film focusing on the origins of Harrison Ford’s iconic character Han Solo, was announced last month. The currently untitled film is set for release on May 25, 2018.
