Blockbuster movie set for release in March 2016
The latest teaser for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been released online, with the full trailer expected later this week.
In the clip you can see below, Ben Affleck’s Batman is tied up in chains in what looks like a dungeon when Superman (Henry Cavill) emerges from above and proceeds to rip off Batman’s mask, revealing him as Bruce Wayne.
This teaser was first broadcast during Monday night’s Gotham in the US with the full thing to follow on Wednesday (December 3) during Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is set to open in cinemas worldwide on March 25, 2016. Director Zack Snyder recently revealed that the beginning of the film is weighted more heavily towards Ben Affleck’s Batman than Henry Cavill’s Superman, but “evens back out” as the narrative progresses.
Meanwhile, Cavill recently confirmed that the film isn’t conceived as a sequel to 2013’s Superman reboot Man Of Steel, but is “more of an introduction to Batman, an opening to Justice League, and an expansion of the world that was created in Man of Steel“.
The superhero mash-up movie also stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Holly Hunter as a US Senator, Laurence Fishburne as newspaper editor Perry White and Diane Lane as Superman’s adoptive mother Martha Kent.
It has recently been reported that Affleck is to direct, co-write and star in a stand-alone Batman film set for release at some point in 2018.
