Superman star Henry Cavill has spoken of his relief that fans have accepted him into the role.
The former Tudors star will portray the superhero from Krypton in new reboot movie Man Of Steel. The first pictures of Cavill in the iconic costume recently emerged online.
Now, Cavill has described the reaction as being mainly positive. He told MTV News: “I think the best part has been recently when people have sort of seen all the work that has gone into it. I think I won a lot of people over, and I felt the support really come behind me, which is a really good feeling, because when you’re doing all this for [the fans], telling a story for them… you just want to do it justice.”
Cavill went on to thank fans for their support, saying:
I’’s wonderful to have all the people online going, ‘this is great, this is amazing, I can’t wait, thank goodness it’s him’. It’s so wonderful, so thank you everyone out there.
Director Zack Snyder‘s Man Of Steelp will co-star Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Kal-El’s adoptive parents. Michael Shannon has signed up to play the film’s major villain, General Zod.
