Sylvester Stallone laughs off death hoax rumours

Stallone poses for Instagram photo following fake CNN report

Sylvester Stallone has laughed off rumours that he had died, following a hoax report circulating on social media.

The rumours began when a “news story” purporting to be written by CNN began appearing on Twitter on Saturday evening.

In response, Stallone posted a photo on Instagram on Sunday in which he joked that he was about to be killed by his friend, Russian boxer Sergey Kovzalev, nicknamed “Krusher”.

In the photo, Kovzalev appears to b about to spar with the Rocky actor, who wrote the caption: “With the incredibly powerful unified light heavyweight champion, Sergey “Krusher” Kovzalev. Whatever he hits, he destroys.”

Stallone isn’t the only celebrity to be the subject of a death hoax recently. In August, Will Smith’s son Jaden Smith was targeted by a video which claimed it showed the teenager saying goodbye to his father before committing suicide.

Following last year’s Rocky Balboa movie Creed, Stallone has announced he’s to appear in his first major TV series, Omerta, in which he’ll play Mafia boss Raymond Aprile.

He has also voiced characters in animated films Ratchet And Clank and Animal Crackers, as well as having a cameo in next year’s Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. Stallone’s next major lead movie is in another mob drama, when he plays enforcer Gregory Scarpa in Scarpa.
