A teenage driver has made a lucky escape after crashing into another car while driving with a hat over her eyes as part of the Bird Box challenge.
The 17-year-old was reportedly attempting to re-create the events of the hit Netflix film, where characters are blindfolded in order to escape a mysterious apocalypse that has been sparked by supernatural beings.
The film, which stars Sandra Bullock, sees characters being driven to insanity and their eventual deaths if they cast their eyes on the film’s villains.
But despite repeated warnings from Netflix to not take part in the craze, online videos have shown people attempting to undertake various tasks while blindfolded – with varying degrees of danger.

In the latest incident, the girl drifted into oncoming traffic in Utah – before directly hitting another car.
“It’s just inexcusable to do something as dangerous as this, not only to yourself but everyone else on the road,” said Police Lieutenant Travis Lyman.
The 17-year-old driver escaped injury alongside her 16-year-old passenger and the occupants of the other car. Police say the 17-year-old is expected to charged with reckless driving.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Bird Box has smashed the Netflix record for the most streamed original movie during the first week of release.
