The first trailer for The Alan Partridge Movie has been released. Scroll down and click ‘play’ to watch it.

The teaser video sees Steve Coogan‘s hapless radio and TV presenter discuss potential titles for his first big screen adventure, before the film’s somewhat clunky official title is revealed at the end.

The full-length feature film is shooting now in Partridge’s native Norfolk and has recently added a raft of new cast members, including Sean Pertwee, Anna Maxwell Martin and Colm Meany. The first official still from the film has just been revealed and appears at the top of this article.

Father Ted director Declan Lowney is helming from a script written by Coogan with Armando Iannucci, Peter Baynham and Neil and Rob Gibbons. Discussing the film’s premise last year (2012), Iannucci said: “Alan is in Norwich. It’s not ‘Alan goes to Hollywood’, it’s not ‘Alan invaded by aliens’ or anything like that. He’s on North Norfolk Digital, which is taken over by a media conglomerate and has its name changed to Shape. And that kicks everything off.”

The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on August 7. Coogan’s signature character was last seen in the web series Mid Morning Matters, and in two TV specials for Sky Atlantic, Welcome To The Places Of My Life and Alan Partridge On Open Books.
