The Avengers‘ extended Super Bowl trailer has emerged online.

In front of a global TV audience of over 100 million last night (February 5), Marvel’s superhero blockbuster unveiled its longest sequence of footage yet as part of the sporting spectacular. You can watch the trailer below.

In it, the heroes are seen assembling under the leadership of Samuel L Jackson‘s SHIELD agent Nick Fury to see off a threat to the Earth from Thor’s evil brother Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston.

With the heroes apparently hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned, Robert Downey Jr‘s Tony Stark, the alter-ego of Iron Man, faces off with Loki’s threat that he has an army with the riposte, “We have a Hulk.”

The Avengers unites Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye on screen for the first time in the latest of Marvel Studios’ big screen adventures. It is directed by Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon and is released worldwide on May 4.
