Former boxing champ won't get to show off his singing skills in the final 'Hangover' film
Mike Tyson has revealed that he will not be appearing in The Hangover Part III.
The former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world made scene-stealing cameos in 2009’s The Hangover and 2011’s The Hangover Part II. In the first film, Tyson performed a memorable version of Phil Collins’ ‘In The Air Tonight’, while in the sequel he sang ‘One Night In Bangkok’ from the musical Chess.
He had been expected to show off his singing skills again in The Hangover Part III. However, when asked about the new movie by TMZ, Tyson replied: “I have no idea what’s going on. I’m not in this one.”
Filming on The Hangover Part III finished earlier this month (November 2012). Firm plot details are being kept under wraps, but the set-up is described as follows: “This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.”
Director Todd Phillips has previously confirmed that this will be the final film in the blockbuster comedy series, promising a “fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions”.
Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha and Zach Galifianakis will all reprise their roles from the first two films, while Ken Jeong’s Mr Chow is said to have a “significantly extended part”. Heather Graham and John Goodman are also set to appear, while Cheryl Cole and Melissa McCarthy are rumoured to have filmed cameos. The Hangover Part III is scheduled for release in May 2013.
