Three-minute scene features Josh Hutcherson's Peeta and Donald Sutherland's President Snow
A deleted scene from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 has been released to promote the film’s release on digital HD in the US.
The three-minute scene features a meeting between Donald Sutherland’s President Snow and Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta that ends in a thinly-veiled threat from the older man.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 opened in cinemas last November and went on to take over $705 million (£465 million) at the box office worldwide. It will be released in the UK on DVD and Blu-ray on March 16.
Mockingjay – Part 2 is due to follow on November 20 this year. It will be be the second film based on Suzanne Collins’s final Hunger Games novel, and is expected to bring the blockbuster film series to a close.
However, director Francis Lawrence – behind the camera for three of the four Hunger Games movies – recently suggested that the franchise could be expanded to continue beyond Mockingjay. Jennifer Lawrence, who stars in the films as Katniss, said in an interview last month (January) that she would “totally do” another Hunger Games film.
