‘Thor’ actor Chris Hemsworth talks ‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron’

'Everything is ramped up,' says Marvel star

Chris Hemsworth has spoken about the forthcoming sequel The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

In addition to taking the leading role in both Thor and Thor 2, Hemsworth played the character in Marvel’s hugely successful first The Avengers film and is set to reprise the part for the sequel.

Speaking to Collider, he said:” Everything is ramped up. It kind of blew me away reading it. I don’t know how Joss [Whedon, director] does it, but everyone has gone up another notch and the whole thing is bigger and more exciting and crazier. Yeah, he’s a genius.”

Speaking previously about The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Whedon said: “The model I’m always trying to build from, or my guiding star, is The Godfather: Part II, where a ton has happened in between and it’s a very different movie, but you don’t need any information.

“It’s there in the film about what’s happened since, what’s different, and why is this a different film; why is it a different kind of structure, and why is it darker? It’s all there, you’re in the vernacular of the first movie and you’re just ready to pick up in this new place, and hopefully that’s what will happen with my movie.”

Since its release in May 2012, The Avengers – a superhero ensemble movie uniting Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk – has become the third highest-grossing film of all time, taking over $1.5 billion (£930 million) at the box office worldwide.
